⚾ OLBS has been powered by volunteers since 1953.
We’re sharing a pretty cool piece of our history today—an Oak Lawn Public Library archive from February 1975 highlighting the history of Oak Lawn baseball. For generations, families have stepped up to coach, organize, maintain fields, serve on the board, and simply lend a hand when something needed to get done.
That’s how OLBS has lasted more than 70 years—and we want to keep that tradition going. ❤️⚾🥎
Our next OLBS meeting will be held the **week of August 24** (exact date coming soon), and board elections will take place at this meeting.
Positions up for election:
Executor of Uniforms – OPEN
Executor of Fields – OPEN
Field Scheduler – Pete Trovato, plans to run again
Community Relations – Carly Comiskey, plans to run again
Girls Softball President – Matt Heinlen, plans to run again
All of these positions are up for election. “Plans to run again” means the current board member intends to seek another term, but anyone interested is welcome to run.
And if you're considering one of our open Uniforms or Fields positions, you won't be starting from scratch! Previous board members will help with the transition, answer questions, and show you the ropes.
We would LOVE to see some new faces—especially our younger OLBS families. :)
Little League is one of those places where a community really comes together. Kids from different schools become teammates. Parents meet neighbors and make new friends. Families build connections that can last long after their kids leave the field.
You don't have to run for a board position to be involved, either. Have an idea? A skill you can share? A way you'd like to help? Come to a meeting.
OLBS has been built by generations of volunteers. The next generation is up to us. 💙⚾🥎
