Sometimes protecting your peace means setting a boundary. Sometimes it means saying NO. Sometimes it means stepping away from an unhealthy situation. And sometimes… protecting your peace means having the difficult conversation instead of avoiding it.

**Counselor's Corner**
Have you ever started your day in a great mood, and then one interaction completely changed it?

Maybe it's a certain word. Maybe it's the tone soeone uses with you. Maybe it's seeing someone who makes you feel unsafe or anxious. Maybe it's hearing a racial slur that carries generations of pain and anger. Suddenly your body responds. Your heart may race. Your muscles tighten. Your mood changes. That's not you being "too sensitive." That's your mind and body responding to something it perceives as threatening, disrespectful, or emotionally significant.

We may not control what we encounter, but we can control what we do with the emotions that encounter creates. Take a deep breath before reacting. Give yourself permission to step away. And most importantly, remember: someone else's words don't have to determine the rest of your day.

🧠💛💃🏽 Mind & Body Monday A new week is here! Take a moment to prepare not only your schedule, but also your mind and body for what’s ahead. ✨ Choose one healthy step. ✨ Give yourself grace. ✨ Choose progress over perfection. Wellness can look different for everyone. It may be getting some extra rest, taking a walk, setting a healthy boundary, making time for yourself, or simply finding a reason to move, laugh, and connect with others. This past weekend, we had the opportunity to bring movement, music, and positive energy to the Back-to-School Block Party hosted by City Motivators! 📚🎉💃🏽 Through interactive Zumba, we encouraged children, families, and community members to get moving and experience the joy that comes from being active together. A special thank-you to City Motivators for creating an amazing opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate the upcoming school year, and connect with valuable resources. This is what wellness in motion looks like.
