This past weekend was the IWCOA State Series, and it was a long, tough tournament with 40 wrestlers in every bracket. Oak Lawn had 11 wrestlers qualify for this major event, and every one of them gave it everything they had.

While not everyone got the outcome they wanted, they still gained valuable experience competing in a true state-series atmosphere, and that experience will only help them grow moving forward.

We’re proud to recognize our three IWCOA State placers:
Khalid – 4th place
Felix – 5th place
Bianca – 6th place as a freshman

We also can’t forget future Spartan Moody, who had the opportunity to help run the tournament by making announcements and walking out the placers during the parade.

Great job to everyone who competed. Keep growing, keep improving, and keep working. We are proud of all of you.

Shout out to our JV squad for battling through a tough JV Conference Tournament and having a lot of success, finishing top 3 as a team with a handful of placers. Jacob and Anthony earned JV Conference Championships in their respective weight classes. Joshua, Luay, and Nathan each brought home second-place finishes, and Adam finished strong with a third-place medal.

Also congratulations to our F/S tournament placers: Moetez placed 5th at 215, Ameer finished 4th, Fahd came away as the champion, and Colin earned a 5th-place finish in his weight class.

Amazing job by these young wrestlers. The future is bright for this group.

Great job to all of the Varsity Wrestlers that wrestled in a tough conference tournament! With 4th place finishes we had at 106lb Aden, 138lb Romeo, and at 215lb Andy. Big Congrats to Khalid for being the 144lb champ and securing all conference honors as a sophomore! Keep it rolling Spartans!
