At 25 years young, Simba isn’t just a pony — he’s the patriarch of the pasture, the heartbeat of BAE Ranch, and the embodiment of leadership in a small package.

What he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in wisdom, presence, and quiet command.
There’s an enchanted stillness about him — a knowing gaze, a patient pause — that teaches far more than words ever could.

Simba reminds us that leadership isn’t about volume or size.
It’s about consistency.
It’s about integrity.
It’s about being, not boasting.

Leadership isn’t always about fixing every problem immediately.

Sometimes, it’s standing back and allowing others to adapt, explore, and discover solutions on their own.

The mustangs saw the problem…
They didn’t panic.
They didn’t resist.
They adapted — and turned it into joy.

There’s a leadership lesson in that if you’re paying attention.

Drop a 🐴 if you’ve learned from unexpected moments.

This morning, I woke up to horses neighing — thought I had a ruckus on my hands.

Walked outside expecting a problem.
Turns out, they were simply living their best life — especially the mustangs.

The waterline to their waterer had broken overnight, flooding the area. What could’ve been a mess turned into a full-on splash party. Rolling, pawing, splashing — like kids at summer camp. The others? They kept their distance and just watched the show.

Got me thinking…
Might be time to install a free access horse pool.

Our rescued alpacas have been living their best lives at BAE Ranch for three weeks now, and they’re absolutely thriving! They’ve brought so much fun, fluff, and personality to our ranch!
