The first time I ever ran Pillow Rock on the Upper Gauley, I couldn’t believe how violent and chaotic it was. It wasn’t until a season later when it felt like it started to slow down and make sense. And this? This makes perfect sense.

The Charles City Challenge is 2 WEEKS Away, and we aren’t holding anything back this year. We’re talking pure river energy. If you’re not at the Charles City Whitewater Park on June 13th, you’re missing the heartbeat of the Midwest Happiness for paddling.

THE LINEUP:

Boater X (Up the Cedar with a Paddle): Pure, unadulterated speed around gates. Leave your excuses at the eddy line. (Kayak and SUP Class)

Balls to the Wall : Team race first FULL team of water and land people to touch the Mural wall wins the bragging rights. Will Killer yogurt come back this year?

Hooligan Race : Anyone with a floating device not a kayak or sup can float the coarse for a bragging rights for the year!

The Boogies (Kids & Adult): The arena is set for kids and adult kids to get in the water. Learn from those that are river family to all of us.... KIDS Get in the water with US! Tag your Favorite paddler to teach you the moves!

Group Photo will be taking place some point through out the day, Make sure your part of the photo for the lasting impression of the most gorgeous smile for miles!

Edge of the World Rodeo: Bring those slicey boats. We’re looking for big air and bigger style. Pray for rain, and come ready to throw down ends.

SUP Clinic & Comp: Elevate your game or dominate the race—no compromises.

River Safety: Essential skills for those who want to rip hard and stay safe. Wait your invited too, Yeah you the person that has never seen a SUP or Kayak before, Come learn from some of the Midwest best!
