Hello everyone!
The local nonprofit organization centered around youth and veterans, Young Outdoorsman Understanding The Hunt (Y.O.U.T.H.) will be hosting its annual Catfish Roundup at the Happy Ho**er parking lot on Saturday, August 1.
Registration will be from 6:00-7:00 AM, and weigh-in begins at 2:00 PM. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest catfish in both the adult and youth divisions.
They'll also be hosting a canned food drive. Each canned food item donated earns you one raffle ticket for a chance to win fishing gear.
Don't have your own equipment? No problem. A limited number of fishing poles, bait, and tackle will be available for anyone who wants to participate but doesn't have the gear.
Other activities include a 50/50 drawing and the Barbie (or any character) Kiddie Pole Challenge, where the person who catches the catfish closest to 8 pounds on a Barbie or character-themed fishing pole wins the pot.
At weigh-in, you'll also have the option to donate your catch to Y.O.U.T.H., which will clean the fish and donate it to a local program.
Entry fees are $5 for youth and veterans and $10 for everyone else.
If you'd like to support a great cause, enjoy a day of fishing, and have a chance to win some prizes, come on out and see what Y.O.U.T.H. is all about!
