Hello everyone, this is Coach Josh.
I wanted to do a little introduction for all the athletes and parents.
It was during my undergrad at William Carey that my love for running sparked. I was a junior and saw that the school was holding tryouts for the track team. I thought it would be really cool to be part of a team sport so I tried out, and with a little luck I was able to make the team. I mainly ran the 800meter but I quickly fell into any event I could convince the coach to let me try, such as the 400m, 400 hurdles, 4X400, 4X800, 1500m, 5K, and discus. After completing my undergrad in History I continued on the team while earning my Masters in secondary education. That year I ran cross country as well and began to consider myself a distance runner. After my last season running at Carey I went on the be an assistant coach there.
The next year I started teaching at Benedict Day School bear Sumrall, and started a XC and Track program there. As my athletes progressed in ability I realized I had lost sight of my own personal running goals, so I signed up for a 50 mile race. After completing it I had a desire to push my own limits, which culminated in trying to qualify, qualifying for, and then running the 2019 Boston Marathon with some of my close friends.
I love running and pushing my own limits just like I plan on pushing all of yours. I know a lot of the time it isn’t easy, but we have fun reminiscing torturous workouts, under dog races, and the inside jokes that come from running 10+ miles side by side with someone.
If you want to know more about me or running or my view on life in general I offer some pretty nifty advice in my blog-

I’m excited to be on your team of coaches and desire for us to do some great things. I know Coach Lindsay and I are willing to put in the time and work, are you?
Thanks everyone,
Josh Moore
