Oak Forest Park District Fury Lacrosse

Thank you to all the parents and kids that came out today to return their equipment and participate in our last fun practice of the season. The kids...and coaches, definitely had a lot of fun! Just a couple reminders:

Lacrosse Camp: This is for kids that will be entering 4th - 9th grade. This is the High School's lacrosse 1 day camp, there is still time to register. Please see the attached flyer for all the details on cost and hot to register. Those entering 4th - 8th grade will need to sign up for the youth camp day on June 16th. Those entering 9th grade need to register for the camp for the High School kids on June 18th. Those going to the camp will need their equipment. We will have another equipment return date after the camps.

End of Season picnic. This Tuesday, June 2nd, from 6pm - 8pm at El Morro Park. We will have pizza, pasta, and chicken tenders. We ask for each family to please click on the sign up genius below to sign up and bring something to share. We will have approximately 75 people in attendance. It is also recommended to bring a cooler for your family. The concession stand will be open as well. All players will receive1 free game of mini golf. Additional games and games for siblings may be purchased at the concession stand as well. This is always a fun evening and all the kids will be recognized. We will also have a special recognition for our 8th graders as this is their final year before they move onto high school.

Just a reminder that tomorrow morning is our Fury day at Oak Forest High School Varsity lacrosse game. Our 8th graders will need to be at the entrance to the field by 10am. They will be running on the field with the Varsity team. There will be a special recognition for them as well. All families are invited to the game and also invited to come onto the high school field after the game to shoot around, so please come on out and have your player bring their stick! All Fury players should wear their game day jersey, white side out. The game starts at 10:30 am. We hope to see you all there!

🥍Join the Fastest Growing Youth Lacrosse League in Town! 🥍

Calling all future lacrosse stars! Our youth league is still open for registration, and we’re looking for players of all skill levels, boys and girls, grades 1st to 8th. Come build balance, teamwork, and skills on the field!

You can come to our meeting / Registrations tomorrow evening at Oak Forest Park District from 7:30-8:30pm or register at Oak Forest Park District during their hours.

Hard to believe the spring lacrosse season is about to start! We have some important dates coming up so please mark your calendars:

Parent Meeting / Registration: Thursday, February 19th 7:30pm - 8pm and Registration 8pm - 8:30pm. We need at least 1 parent to attend the parent meeting, there are some updated rules through Oak Forest Park District. We will also stay after to accept registrations that need to be turned in and or answer any questions. If you have already registered you can leave as soon as that portion is finished.

Equipment Handout: Tuesday and Thursday, February 24th and February 26th both dates from 6pm - 8pm. We will be located at the Oak Forest Flag Football garage located next to the OFBA batting cages, across from Convent Park. Families will need to submit a $200 equipment deposit check in order to receive your child's equipment. We do not cash the check we just hold onto and return to you at the end of the season when equipment is turned in,.

Practices: First practice will be on Tuesday, March 3rd. When we are indoors, please have the kids wear comfortable clothes, gym shoes, no cleats and bring water only. Once we move outdoors for practice the kids will need to wear cleats, with no metal spikes.

Oak Forest Fleadh: Saturday, March 7th. We will be walking in the parade again this year. We are still waiting for all the final details and will email you once we have them. This has always been a fun filled day, with the parade where we pass out flyers and candy to spectators, and many activities around town after. We hope you plan to walk with us and come decked out in all your green accessories and apparel.

Lastly, If you have not had the chance to register you can go to Oak Forest Park District any time during their office hours to do so, or you can also register on February 19th at the parent meeting/registration. If you have not registered yet, if you could kindly just send an email letting us know if you are planning on registering or even if you are not, just so we can update our contacts and records. We would greatly appreciate it. Also, please feel free to share our flyer, this will help to promote our program.
