Winter league signup is exactly 1 WEEK AWAY!! Sign up is September 8th at 7PM, and the leagues will be bigger and better than ever.

We'll be running 40-team leagues all with 7PM start times Monday - Wednesday. All leagues are coed and designed to be fun and competitive for any skill level with our handicap based system. Outside of 9-hole gameplay, we run fun mini games for weekly prizes throughout the season. Top 4 teams at the end earn a CASH PRIZE TOO 💰💰

We've all been there at some point. The low + heel strike is an absolute KILLER.

The "gear effect" and missing the "sweet spot" are the two main culprits causing a bad result.

The gear effect causes the golf ball to rotate more vertically up the clubface, leading to higher backspin, which causes higher lift and drag (all else being equal). This higher RPM creates a "ballooning" shot shape for shorter carry and less overall distance.

When you miss the sweet spot, some of the kinetic energy held in the clubhead on the downswing is used elsewhere, so less is transferred to the ball. Clubhead rotation and shaft vibrations take up some of that force, creating a lower ball speed (and worse smash factor).

Not to mention, if you hit it in this area enough times, you'll break your driver shaft 😬

Imagine playing with a golf ball from 1965?

Well, we actually had one hit out into our range, so we put it to the test! On the Trackman, we compared the Trevino MVP Faultless to a modern-day Callaway Chrome Tour.

This golf ball flew lower, spun more, and had 10+ yards less carry distance. Not to mention, it also had a couple more yards of rollout. Playing with this ball would be TOUGH compared to what we can get today.

Take that and a 1965 wooden driver. What do you think you'd shoot? Golfers back then had some SERIOUS ball striking skills.

Sometimes a shaft change is the answer you've been looking for.

An incorrect shaft in your driver can lead to worse misses, unnecessary spin, and shorter overall distance.

This golfer came to us wanting to make a change in his driver shaft. He was spinning the ball too much and also had a bad miss where he hooked the ball. On paper, he was thinking of doing a super low-spinning, low-launching shaft like the Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6X. While this did lower the spin, his strike consistency dropped, leading to less distance, and he still had that bad miss.

This guy swung hard, like 120mph clubhead speed hard, BUT it was a smooth swing, meaning he didn't put as much torque on the shaft vs. someone with an abrupt tempo. We put on the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6X and BOOM. His spin dropped even lower, and his consistency skyrocketed. He was hitting it further and straighter while also negating that left miss.

Always make sure to try EVERYTHING! If you're unsure of what to get, get a fitting at your local golf shop to see the data, as the "on paper" fit isn't always the right one!

The 3 MOST COMMON MISTAKES we see before a club fitting.

-Don't hit a ton of golf balls right before the fitting. I know practice makes perfect, but unless your body is used to this type of practice routine, you'll be sore and won't be making your best swings. Even if you aren't sore, your concentration might suffer, leading to more inconsistencies.

-Don't do a heavy weight lifting session. This will most likely make you sore and less limber during the session, leading to worse swings.

-Last but not least, don't come in rusty! Please don't book after a 6-month hiatus from golf. We recommend at least 3-4 practice sessions or rounds of golf within the past month or so. This helps give us a better picture of your swing and results in a better fit.
