A nostalgic summer doesn’t have to require big plans, just a few simple things you come back to again and again.

Here are a few family hobbies to try this season:

Roller skating
Driveway, park, or local rink. Fun, a little wobbly, and full of laughter

Archery
Something new, focused, and confidence-building (kids LOVE this more than you expect). Check out our Archery Summer Camps! Kids learn with us and then teach you afterwards.

Yoga together
Slow down, move, breathe, and reconnect. Even just a few minutes counts. Check out our Pause & Play program for fun ways to build this into your family culture.

Bike rides
Around the block, to get ice cream, or just to explore

You don’t need to do all of them.
Just pick one or two and make them part of your rhythm. That’s what kids remember.

Which one would your family try first?

Connection with our kids is something we all want, but in the middle of busy days, it’s often the first thing to slip. Not because it doesn’t matter. We just don’t always have a clear way to build it into our routines. That’s exactly why we created Pause & Play.

It’s a simple, flexible way to bring mindfulness, breath, movement, and meaningful connection into your day, whether you have 20 minutes or just a few.

Connection shouldn’t be left to chance.

Getting outside with your kids doesn’t have to be a whole production.

Here are a few simple ways to make it part of your routine:

• Take a short walk or bike ride after dinner (even 10 minutes counts)
• Bring a blanket to the backyard or a local park and just sit together
• Color together in your backyard
• Watch the sunset once a week. Sunday Sunset tradition anyone?
• Add a few stretches or deep breaths together outside

It’s just about being together, being mindful, taking a breath, and enjoying some movement.

Small, consistent moments can have a bigger impact than one big outing. Which one feels doable for your family this week?

Childhood doesn’t need to be packed to be meaningful.

Some of the moments kids remember most are the simplest ones: walking together, noticing something new, or laughing outside with no real plan. Time outdoors naturally slows things down. It creates space for conversation, curiosity, and connection without pressure.

In a culture where kids are constantly stimulated, that kind of calm, shared time matters more than ever. You don’t need a big outing or a perfect plan. Find something you both enjoy and intentionally step outside to do it together.

Connection is built in lots of small moments.

What if one of the best confidence-building activities for your child this summer wasn't another team sport?

Archery teaches kids so much more than how to hit a target. It helps them develop focus, patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm when things don't go as planned; skills that benefit them far beyond the range.

In our latest blog, we're exploring why archery can be such a powerful confidence-builder for children ages 9-14 and how these lessons carry over into school, friendships, and everyday life.

Read the full article at the link in our bio and discover why archery might be the summer experience your child needs.

Yoga doesn’t only live on a mat.

It’s in blowing bubbles and taking deep breaths. In dancing freely in the kitchen. In stretching toward the clouds. In noticing the wind, the sunshine, the sound of laughter.

Yoga is presence. Connection. Movement. And when we slow down with intention, even the tiniest everyday moments can become practice.

Especially with children, yoga doesn’t have to look quiet or structured to be meaningful. You can practice yoga as a family in the pauses between errands, in playful moments before bedtime, or outside barefoot in the grass.

Little moments.
Big connection.
That’s yoga too.

Mindfulness sounds like a big concept… but with kids, it can be incredibly simple.
It’s noticing.
Listening.
Breathing.
Laughing.
Feeling the sun, hearing the birds, taking a slow sip of water, or sharing a quiet moment together.

Mindfulness is really just presence and presence helps children (and adults) feel safe, connected, and regulated. That’s why we created Mindfulness Bingo: tiny playful moments that help bring us back to right now.

No perfect parenting.
No hour-long meditations.
Just simple ways to pause, connect, and co-regulate together in everyday life.

Because regulation doesn’t always start with “calm down.”
Sometimes it starts with: “Want to play?”

Connection over perfection.

Your child doesn’t need a perfect practice. They don’t need stillness, flexibility, or a beautifully quiet moment.

They need connection.

A breath together.
A shared laugh.
A moment of eye contact.
A safe space to move, feel, explore, and simply be.

And honestly, so do we.

Yoga isn’t about getting it “right.” It’s about coming back to yourself and to each other again and again. Some days that looks peaceful. Some days it looks messy, playful, loud, and full of movement.

Both count.
Both are beautiful.
Both are yoga.

Expectation: perfectly still poses and peaceful silence
Reality: giggles, movement, games, and little feet running everywhere.

And honestly? That is yoga for children.

Yoga isn’t about forcing stillness; it’s about connection. Connection to our bodies, our breath, our emotions, and each other. It meets us exactly where we are in every stage of life.

For children, yoga looks like play. It looks like imagination, movement, curiosity, laughter, and learning how to feel safe and confident in themselves.

The calm comes later.

Right now, we’re building joy, awareness, and connection one playful moment at a time
