Pdga Am Masters 2024 is in the books!! Had a wonderful week full of disc golf, friends and my hubs!! I can honestly say this is probably some of the best golf I have played ever!!
Started with Doubles with Mary Ann Amador and played decently but were bested by now new friends from Estonia, Eve and Viktoria. Congrats on a sold partnership round and Doubles World Champions.
Storms and high winds were next on Saturday and Sunday which altered some of the Midwest plans for Worlds, as per expected.
Tuesday was a new day and an altered layout for Peter Pan. I was ready and got to play with two of my disc golf besties Andrea and Angie R. Played one of my best rounds rated at 880.
Wednesday, I headed in on the lead card at Boyce tied in a three way for second place. Played ok…high winds attacked my confidence but still managed above my rating at 822.
Thursday, I remained on the lead card but started the round in fourth place, back at Peter Pan. Luckily Monkey Island was switched to short. Haha. Confidence ran high, putting was on and I finished the round tied for third with an 869 round. Woohoo.
Friday, lead card still…we attacked Boyce again. Flying on my confidence of the day before, I completed the round sole third and with an 890 rated round.
Made the cut to semis and had a fair bit of trouble shaking off the nerves. Cleaned up a few holes but was playing too conservative. I finished semi round at Peter Pan in third place and an 852 round. Still not bad for this old girl.
Final nine went well but I wasn’t able
to close the gap on my stellar card mates, Nicola Stout from New Zealand and Michelle Swan from California. Also got to play with my emotional support human Amanda Wing.
Congrats to Swan on her W, Nic to her 2nd and Amanda 4th. Special total thanks to my “sister” Mary Ann Armador who caddied for me all day at Peter Pan and the Finals at Champions Landing. 1000+ rated caddy and friend for sure!! Thanks to my friends who hung out at CL and watched us and the other divisions!
I met so many great players and their counterparts, many who played and many who were caddies. All great humans from so many places.
