Owyhee Riding Club

Owyhee Riding Club We are a group looking to promote the western way of life in a variety of activities! We host barrel races, play days, clinics, and jr rodeos.

Our mission is to create a fun friendly environment to educate and encourage participation in a broad area of equine and equestrian activities. Our goal is to encourage fun, safe, and affordable equine activities for individuals and families in our community and surrounding communities. Also, but not limited to, its members, with special consideration and encouragement given to help the youth and community organizations.

I hope this is the LAST time we are putting out an updated schedule... we are trying hard to move our races instead of cancel.

That being said we are coming up to our last three races of our series!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9

Fridays come run with us under the lights! Come for barrels, stay for POLES-- We will run a 2D poles race at the rest of our races this year!

We know this is a series. We have some awesome year end prizes and dates have been marked on calendars. Changing our dates was not ideal but in order to make it worth it for all of us to prep the arena and work the race, and worth it for you as contestants to come-- when other events get scheduled on top of ours the best choice is to either cancel or reschedule. We would rather see you all and your pretty horses so give us a little grace and understanding please 🫶

August member meeting, Sunday August 23 at 6 PM, meet at the office.

Come with any and all ideas, we have a decent agenda going so far. We're about to hit the heavy part of the second half of the year!

Bring horses to play before and after, we can water and work the arena!

We will not be having our race next weekend- Sunday August 23.

If you're looking for a place to run, the Double Down Invitational Horse Sale is running the same day, with $1500 added in Ontario.

All of your board members are running 1 million directions this weekend with different rodeos,  so we haven't had a chance to talk about our plan moving forward-- whether we try to find a reschedule date or remove this race from the schedule altogether. We may pop in a Friday night race or two under the lights and run some poles as well. We will keep everyone posted!

Owyhee Riding Club presents our annual BACK THE BLUE playday! This year all proceeds will be donated from the ORC to Shop With A Cop 👮

Shop with a Cop is a community charity program that pairs local law enforcement officers with at-risk, low-income, or financially challenged children for a holiday shopping adventure!

We are surrounded by an amazing community and it never is lost on us the type of support we receive. We are looking for a few more sponsors to round out purchasing our prizes! If you are interested in sponsoring or supporting us while we put together an amazing event for the kids, please reach out to us either via Facebook messenger or our email [email protected]. The Owyhee Riding Club is a registered 501(c)(3).

Fun little day in Nyssa! We know there are a lot of runners staying home until the smoke clears, but we hustled through a little race today!
Nice job on your win Kayla Williams ! We sure appreciate having you come out. Fun surprise having Dolly Ward join us today on her summer run through the PNW! Good luck on the rest of your summer Dolly, you're just about kissing that NFR qualification!
