The Racing Greyhounds community has always been built on support, strength, and showing up for one another. Today, we want to take a moment to revisit a teammate who continues to inspire us with her courage and determination.
It has been about a year and a half since Alex Akemann’s GoFundMe was created. As many of you know, Alex has been facing the challenges of ALS with the same spirit she brought to every ride, race, and team event. Her positivity remains strong, but the physical and financial demands of her condition continue to grow.
As Alex’s mobility has changed, her family has been renovating their home to make daily life safer and more accessible. These updates are essential, but they have also become very costly.
If you’re able to contribute, even in a small way, it would make a meaningful difference for Alex and her family. And if you’re not comfortable donating through GoFundMe, please reach out to me directly and I can provide alternative ways to help.
