We can’t believe it’s our last day of rehearsals! We are excited to keep celebrating this amazing group of seniors! Let’s hear it for, Sasha Smetkov!
1. What are your plans for next year?
Next year, I plan on studying environmental science and biology at Elon University. I also hope to continue dancing!
2. What is your favorite memory from being at KDS?
There are so many memories to choose from, but I’ve loved NYCDA, recital weeks, and our first nationals last year.
3. What is your favorite style of dance?
My favorite style of dance is either lyrical or contemporary
4. What has been your favorite KDS routine?
Either viva la vida or mausoleum, my contemporary solo this year.
5. Outside of dance, what are some of your other favorite things to do?
Outside of dance, I love hanging out with friends, listening to music, reading, and traveling.
6. How long have you been dancing and when did you join KDS?
I have been dancing for 13 years and I joined Kinetic for season 5.
7. What has the studio and dance meant to you?
Over the past few years, Kinetic has become my second home, where I’ve gained my best friends who constantly support me and feel like family. Dance has given me a love for something that always pushes me to grow while teaching me confidence, determination, and teamwork both on and off the stage. It became a place where I could escape from the real world and be a version of myself I’m not anywhere else. Kinetic reignited my passion for dance in ways I could have never imagined and has given me opportunities I once could only dream of. I’m so grateful for everything dance and Kinetic have done for me, and I’ll miss it more than I can say.
