I’ve be studying Ivan Demidov Shifts to learn what makes him a top offensive player.

Comment or DM “DEMIDOV1” for access to the deep dive analysis of what makes him so illusive.

Almost every AAA player says they want CHL or D1… then look like a different player the second scouts walk in.

It’s not a skill issue. Less than 10% ever train the part that actually shows up under pressure: how they think. So in games they dump, rim, and hope something opens up instead of making real reads.

If you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for at the blue line, or what your second and third options are when the first is gone, comment ELITE and I’ll send you the decision-making framework I use with players who move on to D1 and pro.

Most players think winning 1 on 1s is about faster hands or flashier moves. Wrong.

The best young scorers all use the same strategy they sell the fake until the defender has no choice but to bite.

Caufield holds the puck way longer than feels comfortable.

Hutson skates right into the defender’s strength just to flip it on them.

Perfetti's “triangle move” works because his skating made it look like he was actually going outside.

If you’re not burning defenders consistently, it’s not your skill it’s how short your fakes are or how weak your skating deception is.

Comment MIND55 for my guide on breaking free from coaches who force you to “keep it simple.”

The best offensive D like Dahlin, Hutson, and Makar all score from the blue line the same way: they attack momentum, not space.

They build speed downhill, fake in the direction the defender is already skating, then walk into the lane that just opened up. You don’t need Makar’s wheels to use this, just the right timing and route.

If your coach keeps yelling at you to “simplify,” but you want to actually be dangerous from the point, reply BLUEIQ and I’ll send you the full guide.

*You don’t beat ready goalies with power alone you beat them with timing.**

I studied Matthews, Pastrnak, and Bedard shots that beat goalies who were perfectly set.

At first, I thought it was just elite mechanics. But the truth? It’s a mental game.

🔹 Matthews delays until the goalie shifts then strikes during a micro movement.
🔹 Pastrnak extends his release, trading speed for unpredictability.
🔹 Bedard shoots early, mid-stride before the angle can close.

Three elite scorers. Three timing tactics.

The best don’t wait for the perfect moment they create it by disrupting the goalie’s reflex window.

If you light it up in practice but freeze in games… this might be why.

Appreciate you reading, my name’s Xander.

You’re leaving goals on the table if you only ever “shoot where it’s open.”

Stop staring at the net. Start aiming at the edge of the goalie’s body – arm, pad, hip.

Your brain uses that as a reference point, which tightens your misses inside the posts instead of sailing wide.

Most post‑and‑in goals don’t actually beat the post, they beat the tiny frame of the goalie first. Same idea Zelenov uses here firing it just past the defender’s shin pad instead of ripping it straight into him.

Aim off the body, not just at the hole. You’ll score more and get blocked less.

Comment SCORE2 and I’ll send you a video that can change how you place shots before your next tournament.

Comment or DM Masterclass1 and I'll send you a guide on how to avoid getting confused by conflicting head coach advice by mastering the mental game.
