Kendo (剣道 or 'way of the sword') is a modern Japanese martial art practiced in downtown Jersey City on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at Northvale Dance Academy located at 75 Oak street, Norwood. Kendo descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu), that uses light-weight bamboo swords (shinai) as well as highly protective armor (bōgu). 5th Dan sensei, S. Kang widely practices in New Jersey and has spread his deep kendo knowledge to many interested working professionals looking for a great, high-intensity martial arts workout that helps fix athletes’ (and soccer Mom’s) posture, stamina and mental focus. Come visit “NJ’s most friendly kendo dojo” where all North Jersey residents are welcome to stop by and watch, learn...or join.
We are following all of the NJ safety guidelines for Covid while also wearing masks and additional face-shields inside our kendo gear.
We are looking for 2021 registration, now.
