Some days we just don’t have that much to give mentally, physically, or both. AND THAT IS OKAY! ā¤ļø

Showing up for yourself is more important than giving it your all when you just don’t have that much to give.

Weight lifting belts.. are they actually useful?

The answer depends on what movements you do in the gym. If you primarily use machines then you really don’t need a belt. If you use a barbell and free weights, you’ll want to use one when you start lifting heavier.

For those who want to use a belt… remember, ā€œyou can’t just wear a belt, you have to actually use the belt.ā€ You have to learn how to properly engage your core before starting to use a belt or lifting heavy weight.

ā€œTraining to failure is repeating an exercise to the point of momentary muscular failure.ā€

I’ve heard the term a lot lately, so what are the benefits and when should you do it?

Training to failure will create more muscle stimulation which can increase muscle strength and size. It can benefit those who are trying to lose weight by helping to preserve muscle mass. Training to failure especially benefits those looking to gain muscle by stimulating specific hormones that optimize muscle growth.

Training to failure shouldn’t be done every set. Aim to increase weight throughout your sets and go to failure for your last set only.

Remember that form is key, so don’t continue past the point of breaking good form!

Winter is the best time to start a workout program. After the holidays, life settles down and we have time to build healthy habits before everything picks back up in the spring.

ā€¼ļøQUICK AND EASY MEAL PREPā€¼ļø

This came out so yummy and I’ll definitely be making it again!

Chop small and add to one pan:
Half an onion
One green bell pepper
2 chicken breasts
One head of broccoli
Season to your liking (I used onion powder, black pepper, and paprika)

Cook on medium heat covering and stirring occasionally until broccoli is soft and chicken is thoroughly cooked.

In another pot cook brown rice (enough for 4-5 servings) and don’t add butter!!

Mix it all together in your containers, add your favorite sauce (mine is Chipotle Ranch) and BOOM! You’re all done!! šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹
