Tonight we spent the evening running through leg riding defense: hip bounce, toe hold, swim, pinch and catch, ankle whip... One leg, two leg, on base, on stomach, with/without power half.
With the small group of 1 to 2 kids, we have learned a lot in 2 months. The plan is now to spend most of our time drilling and throw in some more neutral, pinning and more base defense.
For their senior years, I think we have set realistic goals based on their experience. Fingers crossed!

We are still cranking along though June will be slower with school stuff.
Since last post we have worked on a front headlock series, bottom escapes and a lot of time on dealing with leg riders. The kids work really hard and have a lot of tools in the toolbox. Need to get them live wrestling beyond our walls to really get them competing better. Fingers crossed.

Update - the few kids I have, have done really well. We have spent the last couple weeks doing single leg/high crotch defense from the feet, knees and stomach. Prior to that we spent a couple weeks working on when single leg/high crotch shots fail. This includes Iranians, low post, cut backs and different crack down moves.
