The girls did it! These Outlaws battled all day and came away with their first tournament championship! We may not have had our best bats today, but the gloves showed up and the Outlaws left the You Matter Ankeny Classic as Champions! Even better, they got to celebrate the championship with their Moms on Mother’s Day. Thanks Moms!

The Outlaws picked up a big W tonight, playing perhaps their most complete game of the season and topping the Maroons 15-7. Everyone had a hit! Ivy got the game ball, going 2-3 with an RBI and extending rallies! Nora for the throw sticker for a great throw from the third base line to first. Lexi got the hustle sticker for a big triple. Alayna was the leader today and also walked away with TWO home run balls going 3-3 with 7 RBI. Nora, Chloe, and Lexi were also 3-3. Kenna was 2-3 and Harper, Kambry, Emmy, Josie, and Stella all picked up a hit.

Over the weekend the Outlaws competed in the DCG Spring Fling. While the team went 1-3, they played some very close games, losing in bracket play in a walk off.

We want to take this post to recognize our two tremendous volunteer coaches, Madison Sickerson and Allison Kelly! They don’t get paid and don’t have any direct connection to anyone on the team, they only want to be around the game and help our girls get better. We are so grateful to have them and our girls absolutely love them. They are able to connect to the team on a different level and have done a great job of sharing their experience and knowledge with the team. Thank you Allison and Madison!

Outlaws drop a tough one, 11-10 to Delta, but there were a lot of positives including TWO Home Runs! Nora hit her first home run, on her 8th Birthday and finished 2-3. She also got the great throw award for our first ever 5-3 putout. Chloe hit her second home run of the season and finished 3-3. Kambry got the hustle sticker for two great plays behind the plate and went 2-2 and Josie was our leader for staying positive and being a rock on defense. Lexi, Emersyn, and Aja also chipped in 2 hits and Kenna had one.

🥉 The Outlaws battled this weekend and showed exactly what they can do. They dropped the semi final game, losing by one in three extra innings to finish third in their first tournament of the season. Every time they were punched, they punched back and played the most complete softball they have to date. It’s going to be a fun spring and summer!

Nora finished the tournament 10-12 with 3 doubles, Chloe was 9-11 with 3 doubles, Alayna was 9-11 with 2 doubles and a triple . Harper was 9-11 with 2 doubles. Lexington was 8-11 with 2 doubles and a triple. Emersyn had 7 hits, Kenna, Aja, and Ivy had 5 hits. Stella and Kambry both had some clutch at bats in the semi-final.

Outlaws drop a tough one tonight against a really good ADM team. The team debuted their Autism Awareness jerseys that they couldn’t wait to wear. Josie had our great throw award for a nice play to first, Kenna got ANOTHER hustle award for a great job behind the plate and Nora got the leadership award for doing a great job supporting her teammates.

I the field Aja, Ivy, Harper, Alayna, Lexi and Nora all had one hit.

The girls fought hard tonight for an 11-11 tie against the older North Polk team. Chloe had an inside the park home run that she smoked to the fence! Josie got the hustle award for a great, game saving double play (almost a triple play!). Alayna got the leadership award for her encouraging words and great attitude, and Nora got the laser for a great 4-3 putout. Nora led the way offensively going 4-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Aja was 3-3 with 2 runs. Chloe, Lexi, and Emersyn each added two hits and Alayna and Harper each added a hit. Next action Tuesday against ADM!

The Outlaws had a great return to the diamond after a long winter break. The girls in blue belted out 35 hits, beating North Polk 20-4. Chloe got the game ball, going 4-4, scoring 3 runs and playing great defense at second base. Alayna got the laser sticker for some good throws for putouts. Lexie got the hustle award for bouncing around behind the plate and Emersyn was the leader, with some great chatter for her team. Chloe, Harper, Aja, and Nora were all 4-4 on the night. Alayna, Lexi, Emersyn, and Josie each had three hits. Ivy, Kenna, and Kambry were 2-3 and Stella was 1-3. Outlaws return to action Wednesday.
