They claim Pickleball is 90% mental, but clearly, the other 10% is remembering to wear pants. I bundled up for warm-up, but as the game heated up, I shed my sweats and gave it my all. It wasn't until the final point that my wife Karen casually mentioned I'd started a new fashion trend. Well, if going commando improves my game, I'm calling it a tactical advantage and a senior moment.

This is an extremely effective offensive weapon & I would suggest 2 additive comments. Aim over the backhand shoulder because if you miss the penalty is less & most players delay in the reaction. Taking the ball out of the air creates the surprise attack so loosen your grip & take the pop loop early over the net .

It was a total honor to play with Tina Lum, Cynthia Dardis & Julieta Agrelo in the exhibition for the Tom Lowrie court naming. Tom has done so much for Westport Pickleball & the smile of his face was memorable!

Westport honors longtime pickleball advocate Tom Lowrie, 97, with the dedication of the Compo Beach courts now named the “Lowrie Courts.”
