Dear Norton Basketball Families,
We are now accepting applications for head coaches for the upcoming 2026/2027 Travel (Metrowest) Basketball season for boys & girls teams grades 3rd - 8th.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies.
Provide instruction on basketball fundamentals and advanced techniques.
Foster a positive and encouraging team environment.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience or extensive knowledge of basketball.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work well with young athletes.
Commitment to promoting sportsmanship and a positive attitude.
Availability for practices, games, and team events.
Other Key Points:
The season runs from November '26 through early March '27.
The majority of games are at Mass Premier in Mansfield but there is occasional travel for games ~30 minutes away.
All interested coaches including incumbent coaches from the 2025-2026 season must apply
Assistant Coaches are selected by the Head Coach after tryouts
Player tryout dates will be announced at a later time, but anticipate late September
