Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF was not a Silencer Shop-only case. It was consolidated with Jensen v. ATF.

The coalition included Silencer Shop Foundation, GOA and Gun Owners Foundation, FRAC, Palmetto State Armory, SilencerCo, B&T USA, individual plaintiffs, 15 states, and the additional Jensen parties.

The 15 state plaintiffs were Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The court issued party-specific relief. Not a nationwide repeal.

For covered purchases of silencers, suppressors, and AOWs through Silencer Shop or a Powered By Silencer Shop dealer, current dealer guidance separates the 42 states where civilian suppressor ownership is generally legal into two groups:

27 states where the covered transfer lane is presented as no Form 4 / no federal NFA-registration filing.

15 states where state law still keeps the Form 4 requirement in place.

The other 8 states and Washington, D.C. still ban civilian suppressor possession under state or local law.

The 15 state-law/Form-4 states are not the same list as the 15 state plaintiffs. Keep those lists separate.

The 4473 / NICS background-check step and other dealer requirements still apply where required. State law controls. Coverage depends on the injunction’s party-specific scope and the transaction channel. Appeals, stays, dealer procedures, and statutes can change the result.
