Mona Shores finished 4th as a team today at GMAAs at Chase Hammond shooting their best team 18 hole round of the year. Leading the Sailors was Avery Nehra who finished 2nd overall and Evie Lucas who shot a personal lifetime best to secure 10th overall!

Great first week of golf for the sailors. JV girls came out firing an overall 2nd place finish at the Coopersville Invite. The ladies had two medals earned from Antonella and Bella. The JV return this week for their first jamboree at Meadows. The varsity girls traveled to Crystal Mountain for a two day tournament hosted by Traverse City Central. Day 1 was wet and the girls had a tough time finding a run. Sailors were led by Avery Nehra who shot a 90. Day 2, the ladies grinded back and finished 4th overall in the big schools division and Avery Nehra carded a 82 giving her 11th overall for two days. The ladies are back at it today at the Meadows for the FHC Invitational.

We are excited to introduce Todd Lucas as our new JV Girls Golf Coach. Todd grew up on his family owned golf course in Wisconsin, where he learned to love the game and began teaching others to play when he was just 12 years old. In his younger years, Todd was an accomplished high school player and competed in several amateur tournaments, including a US Open qualifier. Now he spends his energy helping others improve their golf game, including his 4 daughters who all attend Mona Shores schools. Todd served as a volunteer assistant coach for the JV team the past two seasons and he is eager to get to work building a strong girls' golf program here at Mona Shores.

Huge shoutout to our Seniors this year. You will do amazing things. Lainee and Mayson will be taking their athletic talents to Saginaw Valley for lacrosse and golf. While Raelyn will be attending Wayne State to pursue a career in the medical field.
