NORTHVILLE YOGA CENTER TEACHER SPOTLIGHT SERIES
We are offering an opportunity for you to get to know our studio and teachers a little better. Our highly qualified teachers bring to the studio years of training and experience, and a passion to share their love of yoga.
This week’s teacher spotlight features Stephanie. Her students are encouraged to practice with awareness to their individual needs and abilities. The practice for her classes offers a flow of poses that includes balance.
Stephanie completed her CYT 200 in 2016 and is currently working toward certification in Yin Yoga. In 2022, she became a Y12SR Leader to work with people in addiction recovery. Please join Stephanie at the Northville Yoga Center for the following classes:
- Thursday, 6:00p – Hatha Yoga for All Levels
- Sunday, 9:00a – Vinyasa Intermediate
- Sunday, 10:30a – Hatha Yoga for All Levels
STEPHANIE WRITES:
I bring to my classes my love of physical movement, body awareness and the ability to meet students where they are in the practice. Whether using a chair for a student that can’t get up and down from the ground, or blocks to demonstrate an easier way to navigate stepping forward on the mat, I believe props to be an essential tool in the practice.
I came to yoga as a way to spend time with my daughter and for both of us to become more active. From that first class, I was hooked on how good it felt to flow through the movements, even though it was hard. I noticed how it not only changed my body, but my mind. I was able to sit in meditation for longer than five minutes for the first time.
After the first year I wanted to learn more and joined teacher training, becoming certified in 2016. I became a certified Y12SR Leader in 2022, to create a haven for people in addiction recovery with yoga.
