Karmanos Cancer Institute is hosting the
2026 C.A.P.A.B.L.E - Million Meter Row

Saturday, May 9th 2026
8:00am - 4:00pm
CrossFit In the D (150 Michigan Avenue, Detroit)

Teams of 4-5 will ROW 25k meters!

There are two heats at 9am and 12noon.

The Million Meter Row is a high-energy, community-driven indoor rowing fundraiser where teams unite to row 1 million meters. The event blends athleticism, teamwork and purpose to raise critical funds for CrossFit® and Physical Activity: A Better Life Experience (CAPABLE). CAPABLE is a free, evidence-based exercise program and research initiative supporting cancer survivors.

And what a last hurrah it was! The end of an era for Hines and the end of 2025, the only way we know how…with a workout.

Gym can mean a lot of things, to a lot of different people. Gym doesn’t seem like a strong enough word to represent what we built over the last 13 years, our community, our relationships, our fitness that we never thought possible.

This gym has been with me through so many ups and downs, as I’m sure it has been for you too. It’s cheered me on to PR’s and regionals and competitions, it’s supported me through deaths of family and friends, through cancer, and brought so many amazing people into my world.

This gym has meant so much to me and been such a constant in my life. You all have meant so much to me. Thank you for being awesome! Thank you for coming to sweat one last time here (we missed those that were here in spirit).

Keep fitnessing! It’s been an honor and a privilege.
