CSUN Karate Club Traditional Karate from a true Master Established in 1969, the C.S.U.N. We practice in Redwood Hall, room B1. Come check us out!

Karate Club is a student-run dojo with a long history of teaching traditional Shotokan Karate -almost as old as CSUN itself! Hiroyasu Fujishima, our teacher and head coach, has dedicated his life to teaching and spreading Shotokan Karate in the United States. In May of 2002 Fujishima-sensei received the title of "Hanshi" from the Japanese government. This is the highest title awarded for a lifetim

e dedicated to excellence in the martial arts, and he is only the 26th person in history to be given that title.

Weekend with Yaguchi Yutaka Sensei, 9th Dan

CKA Dojo

Yaguchi Yutaka Sensei is a legendary 1st generation JKA instructor who has trained numerous kumite champions (Frank Smith, James Fields etc) in the heyday of 60s-70s USA karate. Initially an assistant to Nishiyama Sensei in Los Angeles, Yaguchi Sensei moved to Denver and eventually founded ISKF with Okazaki Sensei. He retired from the organization at the ripe age of 84 and continues to be in demand for seminars as he approaches 90. We are honored and privileged to have Yaguchi Sensei visit our dojo. We would like to invite you to join us on the aforementioned day for a memorable training with this legend.
