Many drowning incidents occur when people are actively swimming or simply spending time around water. Infants, toddlers, and children who are not yet water competent should always have an adult within arm’s reach, providing constant “touch supervision.” Learn more about supervision at: https://ndpa.org/supervision/

Water Safety is very important here at Stevens Swim School. Muscle memory is a huge part of swimming. Repetition is key. If your child hasn’t quite yet learned how to swim then this skill is even more vital. Before and after lessons with us, practice the “Jump turn and grab” in the pool with your child.

Stay safe always around water.

Drain kiddie pools, buckets, and bathtubs right after use. Standing water can be a hidden danger—especially for babies and toddlers.

Whether it’s bath time or backyard play, constant and undistracted supervision is key. Never assume a small amount of water is safe, and never step away, even for a second.

Time is running out to prepare for summer! Get the kids pool and beach safe and book your swim lessons now, as June and July dates are rapidly disappearing! Who still needs 3yo lessons? Who wants to join a parent and tot class? Last-minute openings on May 11th week at 9:45 and 11:45, and last week of May at 3 PM.
