Our Mission Statement: The Northglenn Judo Club (NJC) will continue its ongoing judo program to provide the following for its members and supporters:
• Competent instruction in the techniques and the p

hilosophy of the sport of judo.
• A safe environment in which to regularly practice judo.
• Encouragement and opportunity for all members to mature to their maximum potential as judo players and/or coaches.
• An environment for the development of quality competitors, able to compete effectively at local, national, and international levels.
• Opportunity to participate in recreational judo.
• Affiliation with the national governing body for judo (USA Judo) and active participation in the affairs of the greater judo community at local, state, national, and international levels.
• Opportunity for promotion through nationally sanctioned promotion organizations.
• Opportunity for members, family and friends of NJC to participate in the club’s social and fund raising activities.

The mat hoist is actively being repaired now. Since they have not completed their work as of 5:00pm, we will cancel practice tonight and resume regular practices on Tuesday. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Unfortunately, the mat hoist is still not repaired, although the city and club are doing everything in their power to bring about a timely resolution.

In lieu of continuing to put practice on hold, we will resume practice for both adults and juniors on Tuesday, February 3rd. The plan will be for adults to use the kata mats, while the juniors class will need to wear their judogi top and sneakers, as we will be doing judo drills without mats.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we continue working through this issue. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday.

Repairs to the mat hoist are ongoing. We expect them to be completed by the end of the week. Until then practice will be cancelled for this week. We will plan to resume practice on Tuesday, February 3rd.

The lift will need some of the components replaced in order to safely operate. Therefore, class will be cancelled again tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Class is canceled tonight due to the mat hoist not being operable. The rec center is working diligently to make repairs so we will update again before Thursday’s scheduled practice.

Junior promotion testing is next week (October 7th & 9th).

And November 1st is the Denver Judo tournament. Please let your sensei know if you plan to compete.

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 Albert Tagawa Memorial Shiai on October 4th. Registration can be accessed at https://smoothcomp.com/en/event/26049. We look forward to seeing you there!!

The Albert Tagawa Memorial Shiai will be held October 4th, 2025 at the Denver Buddhist Temple in Denver. Divisions will be available for novice and advanced competitors in the junior, senior and veterans divisions. Athletes from all states are welcome!

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Barb Kendall, loving wife of Sensei Jentry.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 9447 Niwot Road, Longmont, CO 80503.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Judi’s House, 10125 E. 25th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80010.
