Norwich Soccer Community,

We write you all today with great sadness of the passing of Albie Lewis. Albie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973 and a Master of Arts degree in 1998. He played soccer and was a founder and board member of the Golden Goal Club, which supports both the men's and women's soccer teams.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the White Memorial Chapel at Norwich University (322 Scenic View Dr, Northfield, VT 05663). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Norwich University Cemetery (322 Scenic View Dr, Northfield, VT 05663).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vermont's Camp Ta-Kum-Ta (http://www.camptakumta.org) or Norwich University's Golden Goal Club (https://www.givecampus.com) — organizations that reflect Albie's lifelong devotion to service, family, and community.

Hope this email finds you well. The new year has been off to a great start for both programs! Here is an update on how things have been going on our end here at Norwich!

Alumni - Homecoming Weekend
• Friday, September 19:
7 p.m. men’s match vs SJC
• Saturday, September 20:
○ Alumni Match for both men and the women -
11 a.m. on Howard Field for both programs!
○ 7 p.m. women’s match vs St. Joes, Maine

Men’s/Women’s Nike Jersey Sale:
Both teams have upgraded their uniforms for this year, and the men and women will be selling their jerseys for $50. First-come, first-served basis. Please email Coach Emmett at [email protected] or Coach Cipriano at [email protected]

Season Outlook:
Men: Our group has come together nicely thus far. The 17 new players will contribute right away and provide the much-needed spark and depth we seemed to be missing last year. Our first scrimmage saw us battle a tough St. Mike’s D2 side to a 0-0 draw, which was the best result against that program since I got here. The regular season is off to a 3-0-1 start with some quality results against tough opponents. We will travel to Albertus Magnus this week for our second conference game of the season!

Women: The 2025 season is off to a great start for the women’s soccer program. We added 6 new players this year who will come in and make an immediate impact! We have started the season 2-1-1 and travel to Albertus Magnus for our second conference game. The team is excited to build off last year’s success and continue to make big strides forward!

Scarves:
We will be selling Norwich Soccer Scarves as a fundraiser for the men’s program for $30 per scarf. Please email Coach Emmett at [email protected]

Hope this email finds you well, as we are getting closer to the fall. Here is an update on how things have been going on our end here at Norwich!

Fall Schedules: Our schedules for the upcoming 2025 campaign are both up online. Plan ahead so you can watch both programs on Sabine Field or on the road!
Men's Schedule - Women's Schedule

Nike Jersey Sale: Both teams will upgrade their uniforms this coming year!
Men’s: will be selling theirs for $50 a jersey. First-come, first-served basis. Please email Coach Emmett for details.
Women’s: will be selling theirs for $50 a jersey. First-come, first-served basis. Please email Coach Cipriano for details.

Recruiting:
Men’s: The men’s program currently has 17 committed recruits for the incoming class of 2025.
Women’s: The women’s program currently has 8 committed recruits for the incoming class of 2025.

Scarves: We will sell Norwich Soccer Scarves as a fundraiser for the men’s program for $25 per scarf. Please email Coach Emmett at [email protected] if you are interested in purchasing one of these.

Homecoming Alumni Match: Game is set for September 20 at 11 a.m. on Howard Field. Please RSVP to Coach Emmett via email. We plan to have a match with alumni from both programs and a cookout right on the field directly following the match.

The Homecoming game schedule has Men’s Soccer playing Friday, September 19 at 7 p.m. Women’s Soccer plays Saturday, September 20 at 7 p.m. Both games will be on Sabine Field.
Our goal is to provide you with the most current information on both programs throughout the year!

Hope everyone is doing well. The Maroon and Gold Challenge has kicked into high gear and we need your support! If we can generate another $2500 in gifts to the Men's Soccer program, I have pledged to donate $250 on top of that number. Hope we can get there. Thanks to everyone who has supported us. We are hoping to get a big semi final win tonight against JWU and advance to the GNAC final on Saturday!
