We participated in the Pedro Sauer Association Day on Saturday, Sept 12th.
We have a # of Pedro schools in NE Ohio. We are all super friendly and willing to share information. (Bill Jones has always been very generous and helpful with information)

We organized an “Association Day” as a chance to meet up, share techniques, and get in some rolling with guys from other schools. It was a great day! Thanks to Joe and Lisa Hill (Hill Jiu Jitsu in Canton) for hosting.

Hello Team North Coast! Please recall that we will be CLOSED on Saturday, Sept 12.

ADULT STUDENTS: we will be attending a joint training session with other area Pedro Sauer schools. This is a great chance to meet and train with other Pedro students. Event will be a mix of seminar / techniques and then open mat and rolling.

We often talk about our family orientation here at NC. We have many families with parents and kids training with us. And of course we have a bunch of Hidos running the place!

Check out these new students! Both rocking the black gi. Rocco (dad Anthony is a blue belt with us) and Cru (dad Scott is a purple belt with us) just started in our 5-7 yo program. Super rewarding to get the young ones on the right path, learning to get fit, have fun, and learn self-defense!

Fun morning class today.

North Coast offers a 10am class 6 days a week! Many members find that very convenient to balance training with work and school duties.

We striped up 2 members today. #1 for Adam, #3 for Ed. These 2 are AM class stalwarts and making great progress.

We worked some side control basics today. How do we hold down “the bully” if we ever have to defend ourselves.

Barrett’s little brother took his first class today in his new black gi. He had a riot and Barrett wanted to be his partner so that he “could walk him through things.”

James has been with us for 6 months or so and earned his first stripe! Dad Brendan is a tough Brown Belt and an instructor on the staff here, so James is in good hands for sure

We had 3 of our guys travel to Columbus to compete in the Battle of Boots and Badges. This is a grappling competition for veterans and Police Officers.

Rick and Riley took home Silver and Josh earned a Bronze.

We would like to recognize 2 recent promotions here at North Coast.

Rick earned #1 on his Purple belt. He’s been with us a long time and he’s a very tough roll.

John earned #3 on his White belt. He recently joined our team, with several years of prior training. He’s become a nice addition and a good student.

Please congratulate the guys when you see them next!

We teach the entire fight game here at North Coast. Boxing/striking, takedowns, and of course Jiu-Jitsu. And, Jiu-Jitsu with striking, for a real taste of what we might face in a self-defense situation.

We ran our new MMA class tonight, Thursdays at 6pm. It was a big hit 😃. Coach Matt ran the guys through some takedowns from the clinch. Then, grappling with striking. Our Jiu-Jitsu should be able to handle any situation, even when the other guy is punching!

Girls Squad! North Coast is known for its super family friendly culture. Some gyms can be intimidating for new students and ladies. Not here.

We have a very active group of ladies that train with us. They participate in the full complement of training classes that we offer.

Mondays at 7pm we offer a Women’s only class. This is a super fun, high energy class that blends striking and grappling self-defense techniques.

Coach Amber ran a great class tonight! Great turnout, some new faces, and the energy was through the roof!
