Minnesota Kyudo Renmei

Minnesota Kyudo Renmei The MNKR is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the practice of kyudo. We studied intensely for 2 years before returning to the United States.

John and Carly Born started learning kyudo in 1997 under Imai Masao sensei, Kyoshi 7th dan, in Nagaoka, Niigata prefecture, Japan. Continuing on our practice in the US we first joined the Northern California Kyudo Federation as we were living in California at the time. After moving to Minnesota and several more years of study, we established the Minnesota Kyudo Renmei as an independent non-profit

organization devoted to the study and practice of kyudo. The MNKR has continued to grow and we now have a number of ranked members with new people joining every year. We are affiliated with the American Kyudo Renmei (www.kyudousa.com) and the International Kyudo Federation (www.ikyf.org) and USA Archery.
