The New Trier vs. Loyola rivalry never disappoints.
The level of talent on both sides was incredible to watch. I’ve had the privilege of working with many of these athletes over the years—some since they were in 6th grade—and seeing their growth as players and people has been incredibly rewarding.
To my New Trier athletes: one game does not define your career. While this chapter didn’t end the way you hoped, your story is far from finished. Some of you still have years ahead in high school, and others are preparing for the next chapter at the collegiate level. Keep your heads high and continue the work.
To my Loyola athletes: keep taking care of business. Your talent is undeniable, but what impresses me most is the work ethic, discipline, and commitment behind it all. People see the final score and the highlights, but they don’t see the countless hours of preparation, sacrifice, and effort that make those moments possible.
I’m incredibly proud of both groups and grateful to have played a small role in your journeys. Thank you for allowing me to be part of it.
