Massachusetts is set to pass an extensive gun control law (currently HD4420) which will have a grave effect on every gun owner in Massachusetts.
When politicians pass laws like this, they neither consider the constitutionality of these laws nor how their vagueness and haphazard nature make compliance nearly impossible. When this bill passes, every gun owner in Massachusetts will be in real danger of unintentional criminal violations, irrespective of their intent to comply.
Here are just some of the things this law will do. It will:
-Virtually ban all semi automatic rifles.
-Force retailers to keep a record of all magazines and ammunition sales. Your name, gender, address, and occupation will be required to be kept on โfile.โ
-Effectively eliminate legal conceal carry in Massachusetts.
-Require all firearm magazines to be serialized and registered with the state. This may cut off any magazine sales in Massachusetts for several years as it is unknown if any manufacturers will be able or willing to comply with this.
-Require that any modifications or new parts added to personal fi****ms be registered with the state.
-Make a number of significant changes to the licensing scheme in the state. This will severely limit peopleโs ability to get the training required for a license.

''Firearm'' is now a generic term to mean any type of gun, including stun guns. The new term now considers the frame or receiver or the barrel as to legally be a firearm. That means any of these components must meet every criteria, including safe storage and transportation, as a working firearm.
