Picture of some of the wonderful people I have the privilege to meet and teach at Marlborough Senior Center. This photo was taken last week, but I have been so busy I rarely post anything on social media. 🤷‍♀️

I love teaching fitness classes. It is one of the biggest joys of my life.

I feel very lucky to have been doing more of that in 2025.

It all began with this book.

📖 Power Yoga by Beryl Bender Birch pulled me into a daily practice.

First picture is of me in Triangle pose, heavily pregnant with Heather, taken October 17, 2000. Two days later, Heather was born.

Power Yoga, carried me through every chapter of life, even after having my daughter, Heather.

Beryl’s athletic approach to Ashtanga yoga spoke to me. It is a practice that links movement with breath in a set sequence, building strength, focus, and discipline. Over time, that same rhythm and power shaped how I see fitness today: as a balance between effort and mindfulness.

While many studios now teach Vinyasa flow, and this book explains Ashtanga yoga, the roots are similar — finding presence through movement.

Years later, that spark turned into my passion for teaching yoga and fitness which is helping others discover that same connection between body, breath, and self. 🌿💪

A long time ago now, but I am very thankful to for that wonderful book. I still own two copies of this book. 🧘‍♀️
