The BDU babes had an AMAZING time at Yula last weekend full of frizz friends and fun! Came in seeded 12th and broke seed by 3 when winning the ninals bracket 🤩🤩🤩 This resulted in BDU placing 9th out of 20 (with only having had 1 practice🙂‍↕️) Though the bus ride was long, cold and bumpy we would not trade this experience for the world ❤️ Enjoy the flicks by our wonderful photographer

To finish of our 2024 ROSTER!!! We have, Zivia “everything but geography!!!” Parikh (she/they), is our other freshie and newest member to the team!! Zivia can pull like no other!!! She has this stylish way of pulling that you just have to come to a game and see it for yourself. It will have you cheering! She has killer hucks!!! While being an awesome player on the fields, off the field you can catch her CROCHETING!!! another member of the fiber arts squad! She’s so crafty and talented it’s quite impressive. Might I add she’s like extremely smart!!! She has endless topics of conversation. We are so happy she joined the team and love playing with her!

Alysha “I’m just a baby” Parshall-Matylas, is one of our newest additions to the team! We are so happy to have this freshie. On the field, i kid you not, she catches EVERYTHING!!! Even Olive’s questionable hucks! She’s somehow always unmarked in the end zone and just effortlessly scores the point. If she isn’t already in the endzone, she will RUN so fast into it. She’s a speed demon I swear! During warmups while the rest of the team is yelling their lungs out…you can catch her yelling “ROARRRR”!! Oh and aside from ultimate…she’s killer at soccer too! On the sideline she brings goofiness and laughter with her hilarious sense of humor!! And when Travis makes a silly noise you’ll hear Alysha go “Bless you”‼️

Our final sophomore, Amelia “🪨📄✂️“ Durbin (she/her) is another first year varsity player who’s spirit and energy is unmatched. On the field she’s a reliable receiver downfield who’s always there to catch any throw put up in the air. When she’s not catching disks, she can be found on the sidelines cheering on her team or playing (and probably losing) to Olive in rock paper scissors. Outside of ultimate she is an incredible artist, drawing her own tattoo concepts. She is in a band and does so much musically. She is also the only person on BDU who has every pierced her own ear in the Chicago airport… with a safety pin… that she bought in the airport… for $10

Haliyah “AHHHHH” F (she/her). She’s another one of our sophomores this year! Being one of two of the players who joined varsity her freshman year!!! Haliyah is a dominating cutter on the field! She’s so quick even with shin splints!!! She really gets that disc moving. Her clap catches reign supreme (you can hear it from two fields down!!!) Her hops sky even the tallest of Olives. Off the field you can find her getting involved with the community. She’s apart of Youth Commission here in noho. She’s also a loving friend and teammate! Back to on the field, you can hear her yell “AHHHHHHH” because that disc just came at her so fast. You might even catch her grandpa saying “spread and penetrate” (don’t ask)
