"If my body wasn’t the problem, if I wasn't waiting for me to reach my “desired” weight, shape, size, or body configuration I would..."

I'm posting this photo of me In a heavily propped configuration of hero pose plus fish pose because I was TEMPTED to post some pretty yoga picture of me - a posture that comes easily to me and looks fancy. But the truth is that bodies change from day to day. It's our tendency to use social media to show only the parts we want others to see. Us yoga teachers show the stuff we are good at - we usually don't show the limitations or the messiness. I want to change that.
Your body is not a problem. The pose is always the problem or the puzzle. It's like a little mystery to solve and I kinda like that.
Reclining hero is one that I have to build an absolute tower of props to be able to access! Let's go through the list - rolled towel behind my knees to relieve pressure on the joint, rolled blanket under my ankles to reduce the angle at which they have to open (limited mobility from injuries), block under my butt to support it (pelvis isn't hanging in the air) and a stack of blankets, blocks and bolsters that I can lean into. Instead of feeling panicked and in pain (which is what I feel if I try this pose unsupported), I can rest here for quite some time.
"Problem" solved 😎
