Are you a cheap imitation or the real thing?
Sometimes we are deceived by something and later find out it is not what we thought. Prime example is the elections going on currently. But, that is not the topic here, instead, I want to ask you one question. Are you the real deal? Is your heart in the right place? Are you doers of God’s word or simply imitators?
Read James 1:22 for just a moment. “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
Without actions that justify our faith, we are simply a shell of what we are intend to be, fooling ourself i to thinking how good we are. We may go to church and go through all the motions and come home to our safe environment and feel content and look good to those on the outside, but, is that what we were called to do? Is that what being a Christian is about?
Now read James 2:17-20, 26
“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?..
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Friends it is time we stand up in our nation to make a difference. Christians have sat on the sidelines for way to long. Start today by helping those around you. Inform yourself about what is really going on with this election and make educated choices. Don’t become pawns in a propaganda flooded space. Vote for your morals. Choose the side that stands with your values. Don’t be lured into making bad decisions. Most importantly though love one another. Regardless of someone’s political views, if we love them, they will eventually have the chance to see the love of Jesus Christ and how it continues now and forever. Be a doer!
