The Strand Theatre, (formerly DHU Strand Theatre), the tan brick, art deco-style building at 540 Oliver Street in North Tonawanda, NY has been many things. Built originally as a Nickelodeon theater around 1920, the “Strand” was later converted to a church, an office building, and even a fitness center. Purchased in 2011 by DHU Productions, LLC as a rehearsal space for Buffalo-based band Dive House
Union, it was quickly seen how, with some elbow grease and TLC, that the Strand could rise again as a casual venue. The band, along with its many colleagues in the music community, can often be heard holding rehearsals and recordings and, on occasion, opening the doors to friends, family, and music fans for an informal concert or jam. Now under new ownership the dream continues, with a state of the art sound system, new stage, lights and seating the venue is even more spectacular. Stay tuned for details on upcoming events!
