Meet Blonde Marie! She is available for adoption at the Equine Adoption Day, presented by EQUUS Foundation, happening today at Old Salem Farm from 11am to 2pm.

The photos on the left are what it looks like when wonderful horses wind up a slaughter auctions, neglected and reduced to a rump sticker with a number and no name. Horse #7766 is Blonde Marie, a young, off-track Thoroughbred and she didn't deserve this. Neither do many thousands of American horses of all types, breeds and disciplines that meet this fate every year. Blonde Marie was lucky - the photos on the right are of her freedom ride home, and safe in a stall with Our Farm Equine Rescue that rescued her. Meet Blonde Marie at Equine Adoption Day presented by the EQUUS Foundation this Sunday, May 21st from 11:00 to 2:00 at Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Show. The EQUUS foundation means hope for horses -- and supports the good work of organizations across the country like Our Farm that keep horses safe and give them homes and a new purpose.
