Hello Sailors Lacrosse Families,

We're excited to share the very first edition of the Sailors Lacrosse Club Newsletter!

This inaugural issue is a little longer than future editions because we wanted to introduce you to everything that makes our program special. Inside, you'll find:

-An overview of our program from Kindergarten through High School
-Introductions to our coaching staff and Board of Directors
-Highlights from this past season
-Information about our mission, community, and what's ahead for Sailors Lacrosse

Our goal is to use this newsletter to keep families informed, celebrate our players and coaches, recognize the incredible volunteers who make our program possible, and strengthen the connection across every level of Sailors Lacrosse.

We hope you enjoy getting to know our program a little better, and we look forward to sharing more updates throughout the year.

Summer Turf Time is Here! 🥍

Looking to stay sharp this summer? Join us for FREE Summer Open Turf Sessions for students in the Hendrick Hudson School District!

Open to all players entering grades 7–12, these sessions are a great opportunity to stay active, build your skills, and enjoy playing lacrosse with friends throughout the summer.

📅 Dates:
• July 21
• July 28
• August 4
• August 11

📍 Location: HHHS Turf
🕖 Time: 7:00–8:00 PM

No registration required—just bring your stick, plenty of water, and come ready to play!

We recently wrapped up the 2026 season at our annual Awards Dinner. It was a great evening celebrating the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our players both on the field and in the classroom.

Congratulations to our players who earned Academic Honors and Section Athletic Honors this season:

🏆 Honors
Richie Simonetti - All League
Ethan Walsh - Honorable Mention All League

Scholar Athletes: Chris Barreiros, Richie Simonetti, Ethan Walsh, Billy Magliano, John Jackson, Conor Butts, Matt Krupa, Ruben Villeda, Tim Palmer, Jackson Van Dekker, and Lucas Beloff.

Our coaches also presented 5 players with team awards. Congratulations to:

Some of our sailors headed to the 2026 NCAA Division 1 Men’s National Championship in VA….a few even found their way to the field

Moment of appreciation for our goalie Timmy Palmer who had a mind-blowing 209 saves this year, his first on varsity!!!

This season was about rebuilding — and laying the foundation for what’s ahead. A huge shoutout to our underclassmen who showed tremendous potential all season long. The future is bright for this program. 💙

To our seniors: thank you for your leadership, dedication, and heart. Good luck in your next chapter, and please come back often to see what you helped start.

Timmy — what an incredible start to your varsity career. We can’t wait to watch what’s next for you.

Thank you to our amazing coaches-Loftin, Gentile, Simonetti & McKim for believing in this team from start to finish and never giving up on these boys.

To our captains — Shawn, Richie, Ethan, and Billy — thank you for showing up every single day and leading by example for your teammates.

We also couldn’t do this without our incredible parents and community support. Your support means everything to this program.

And thank you to our amazing athletic trainer, Meg, for always patching us up, taking care of our players, and making sure we had everything we needed to take the field.

At the end of the day, a successful season isn’t measured only by wins and losses. It’s about the memories made, friendships forged, skills sharpened, and lessons learned along the way.
This team showed mental toughness, grit, and resilience all season long — never giving up no matter how challenging things got. You played for each other, and that’s what being ONE TEAM is all about.

The season may end, but what we built together will last forever.
