Steve competed in RPS’s Winter’s Wrath in Weat Lebanon NH with the goal of qualifying for the national competition. He came in thinking the qualifying raw total for his division was 960lbs. Just over 1 month prior to competition, we learned that number was actually 1,100. This certainly changed things, or so we thought. It made the last month of programming accelerated as all previous calculations were thrown out the window. I programmed almost non-sensical weekly goals to push him harder while keeping it safe’ish. We put a plan for attempts together to hit 1,100, and almost abandoned it thinking it was too late. God was on our side, and Steve far exceeded expectations. He totalled 1.101lbs and is now a world record holder in his division. WELL DONE STEVE!
