🏃This morning the Bobcats persevered through hot, sticky weather to finish strong at the Wellen Park Invite!

🏅Sebastian Velazquez-Rodriguez finished in sixth with a time of 17:23.

🏅Megan Taylor finished in fourth with a time of 20:17.

🔥After an injury kept him from finishing last week, Vitaliy Rokovets completed his first-ever 5K.

Congratulations to the Bobcats on a great performance at our first home meet, the North Port Preserve Pursuit!

On the boys side:

🏅Sebastian Velazquez-Rodriguez finished in tenth with a time of 17:25.
🔥Wyatt Zdrojowy ran a season best of 18:39.
🏃Billy Carlson beat his personal best by more than 2 minutes.
🎉Ryder Cartee finished his first-ever 5K.

On the girls side:

🏅Megan Taylor finished in seventh with a time of 20:02.
🌟Lacie Zdrojowy ran a season best of 23:22.
💥Peyton Schaefer beat her personal best by 1 minute and 23 seconds.
🧨Elle Neugebauer beat her personal best by more than 3 minutes.
⚡Emily Holt made an amazing comeback after a difficult race last week, improving by more than 6 minutes.
🎉Alyssa Worthington finished her first-ever 5K.

The Bobcats kicked off their cross country season at the Lemon Bay Invitational this morning. Sebastian Velazquez-Rodriguez placed 5th for the boys with a time of 17:42, and Megan Taylor placed 4th for the girls with a score of 20:44. The girls team scored 8th overall. The boys team did not have enough finishers to score as a team.

North Port Cross Country is hosting two meets the year, and we need your help to make the meets run! We are hosting across the street at Heron Creek and have two dates:

8/29 North Port Preserve Pursuit
9/19 22nd Annual North Port XC Invitational

We are looking for help with several roles:
Course marshals
Finish line help
Lead and trail carts
Crossing guards

💵 Entrance Fee: $8 total ($7 admission + $1 processing fee), Sunday is a separate community fun run and entry is included with Saturday’s ticket

8:45 AM: Boys Race (approximate start time)

There will be no separate JV races; all athletes will run in the combined varsity races.
