I didn’t trust this voice until after I went through a learning experience when I met Roger, a multimillionaire in Dallas, Texas. So I listened to that voice and gathered up the courage inside to pull away from my comfort of quietness to asking him if he could show me how to be successfu! Little did I know that the hardest part of this whole experience was getting my parents on board. I thought leaving my job was going to be the hardest, but was I wrong! They tried everything to get me to stay from bribing me to disowning me enough to never talk to me again. Oh my god! I was Devastated. The people that I loved the most, or yet, I thought they loved me the most were going to disown me! I eventually got mad about how they were treating me because I thought this was a once in a lifetime experience. Before I leaped, I sold my brand new car to get a used car, so I didn’t have a car payment. Then I sold all my furniture. After it all, you could see me driving down in my used car with the music blaring, my clothes, computer, coffee maker, and about 12,000 in cash. I had great credit with a $10,000 limit on my credit card, which I increased to $20,000. It felt amazing and freeing despite not having the backing of my favorite, and most loved people in my life. I didn’t care because I kept looking towards the success I was becoming. Until I hit my first road bump…. I had just driven across the Texas border and then called Roger. He knocked the air out of me because he asked me where I was staying. And then he said I couldn't stay at his house. Even though that was a surprise I still felt invincible, so there was no way I was giving up that early. So I called my brother, and he said he didn’t have room either because his girlfriend was moving in. Of all people, My brother…! That was another jab to my heart, but I still persevered. At this point, I started to freak out thinking that I would have to live out of my car like a homeless person. And then out of nowhere, I remembered that the old secretary at my work had moved to Texas a month before…! I felt awkward, and had nothing to lose, so I called Kim and she said yes, but I had to sleep on the kitchen floor!!! That was a huge relief! I didn’t want to burden her, so I looked on craigslist while I was there. I ended up finding a room at an older woman’s house for $400 a month! Plus, it was 10 minutes away from Roger’s house. Everything was working out for me! We started this business, yet Roger kept having private meetings with the other members. I felt betrayed, but I tried to forget it because I thought if I worked hard, then things would work out. Soon I became the leader in sales, and I was the only one without experience in this industry. Unfortunately, I kept getting used as their sales slave. I didn’t start making money until 3 months after I started, so at this point I was using my credit for which I wasn’t able to pay back. Eventually, I lost that powerful voice I talked about earlier, and I had to eat my pride and move back to Chicago with $20,000 in credit card debt. Yet, that voice was setting me up from something greater! When I met my Mentor Keala. This time I knew I was with the right mentor! In addition, Keala had all of the traits I learned about from the books that my other mentor gave me. I did learn some successful habits from the books that the multimillionaire told me to read, and Keala had all of them!
