North Star VFD Explorer Post 300 Explorer Post The Explorers program is not a new program by any means. Applications are only going to be taken until the end of the month of Nov. '13!

Its an opportunity for young men and women ages 14-21 to get on the job training in their areas of interest. There are, Law Enforcement Explorers, Army Explorers, and even Social Services Explorers-just to name a few. We here at the North Star Volunteer Fire Department offer a Fire Explorers program in which caters to young men and women in the Fairbanks-North Pole area by providing them with hand

s on experience in the world of firefighting. This program lasts for the length of the school year according to the FNSB-School District. During this time we will be conducting bunker drills, learning EMS, riding on Fire Engines, and practicing suppressing fire tactics, just to "scratch the surface" of a few activities we will be teaching our Explorers. So get them in now!
