Our athlete of the month for June is Coach Megan Ott! She has only been on our team for about a year, but she and her husband, Adam have been such a great addition to our community and we are so grateful!! To get to know her better, read below:
Name: Megan Ott
Age: 36
Hometown: Greenwood, AR
Occupation: Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Sonography program at UAMS
Family/pets/kids: Married to Adam Ott. We have 3 girls, Ellanor (8yo), Willow (5yo), and Morgan (17mo)
We have 2 dogs: Scarlet (Goldendoodle) and Kaedo (Beagle)
Hobbies: CrossFit - Duh 😜 - Mommin' and spending time with my family. I appreciate a good audiobook and look forward to reading and getting into more hobbies once I graduate in August from UCA.

Fitness/ athletic background before joining Omnis: I was a gymnast at an early age and transitioned into competitive cheerleading at 9yo. I cheered through High School and College. I started CrossFit in 2012.
What's something about you we might not know: I grew up singing and doing talent shows/pageants from around 8 years old and up through my undergraduate college years.
I also really enjoy research and will be graduating with my PhD this Summer. 🎓
Any special talents or surprising facts: I can play the fiddle and the piano. What are you enjoying most about Omnis/functional fitness:
What I love most about Omnis is the sense of community we’ve found here. Adam and I had been searching for a Christ-centered community that would not only pour into us spiritually, but also into our girls, and we’ve found that here. We’ve already started building meaningful friendships, which has been so special. Surrounding our family with that type of community is so important to me. I want to raise daughters who see strength as beauty, who know their worth, see what it's like to be a good friend and who will boldly challenge the status quo of what girls and young women are expected to be, and this environment supports that in such a powerful way.
I’m thankful for the women here who surround me each day.

MURPH! One of my favorite events of the year when our entire gym family comes together to recognize that Memorial Day is about something bigger than us. We thank all of the men and women who have served our country and given ALL so that we may live in freedom and opportunity.

Omnis North had about 40 athletes participate in the Acid Athletics competition Wednesday May 20! It was such a great time pushing ourselves in an in house competition style atmosphere! Thank you Rad Global for the shoes! We cannot wait o announce our winners!

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own box owner, manager, and head coach Kelley Sluder for passing the LEVEL 3 CERTIFIED CROSSFIT TRAINER EXAMINATION!

The CF-L3/CCFT credential is a CrossFit-specific designation for those who have completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate courses, at least 375 hours of coaching CrossFit in the last 5 years, and then successfully passed the CCFT examination. This credential is for the experienced individual seeking to demonstrate a higher level of CrossFit coaching knowledge and ability. Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainers represent less then 1% of all CrossFit Trainers and we have one of them in our own box now!

We are so proud of you for all the time and energy you put in to preparing for this and are excited for you to bring your knowledge and passion into Omnis North!

Our athletes of the month for May are Jacob and Simone Perales! They are the sweetest couple ever and we love having them in our Omnis family. You can almost always find Jacob in the 5 am class and Simone whenever she can break away from the babies!😂 they have the coolest story so read below to get to know them better!

Age: 30 (we’re 10 days apart!)

Hometown: J: McAllen, TX & S: Sherwood, AR

Occupation: We’re in full-time ministry, sharing the Gospel with people who haven't heard 🇮🇳 🇦🇪

Family/pets/kids: We’ve been married 6 years 💞 and have 3 amazing boys — Asa (5), Wilder (3), and Elias (14mo) 🩵🩵🩵

Hobbies: reading 📖, visiting state parks 🏔️, visiting coffee shops ☕️, and we love the rare occasion that we get to work out together!

Fitness/ athletic background before joining Omnis:
J: Played football from childhood through college which led to lifting which led to a love of CrossFit.
S: CrossFit is my first experience with anything fitness or athletic! I always thought I was very unathletic, so I’m very proud of how far I’ve come.

What's something about you we might not know: Jacob went to college 24hrs from his hometown in North Dakota 🥶 🏈 Simone has a degree in elementary education 👩‍🏫

Any special talents or surprising facts: We both felt called into ministry the same month, in different states, and met each other 3 years later in India!
