The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) was a college athletics organization in the United States, founded in 1971 to govern women's college competitions in the country and to administer national championships (see AIAW Champions). It evolved out of the "Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics for Women" (CIAW), founded in 1967. The association was one of the biggest advancements for women's athletics on the collegiate level. Throughout the 1970s, the AIAW grew rapidly in membership and influence, in parallel with the national growth of women's sports following the enactment of Title IX.

Why am I sharing this bit of ? For one, the AIAW was governed by Women, for Women before the hostile takeover by the NCAA.

Second, the scoring record of Caitlin Clark. The AIAW record should be recognized and the following story shines light on it!

I was invited to attend the Souper Bowl of Caring event in Henderson to learn I was being presented with the Lifetime Legacy Award from the network! What an honor🙏🏾 thank you and for your thoughtfulness and love. What a memorable event and blessing to be a part of‼️

The monthly sports magazine helmed by Bryant Gumbel is calling it quits in its 29th year. The final, 90-minute episode premiered this week.

First, Huge Congratulations to the 2024 NCAA Women's Volleyball Champions, the Texas Longhorns!

It takes courage to talk against Trans Women playing on Women Sport Teams. Biologically, they're still men. There's no denying it. But, it's now affecting NCAA scholarships!

More female athletes need to express their concerns on this issue. It can't be pushed aside.

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words you have posted. Yes, I read them... I just couldn't respond as they all touched me so much!

As I prepare for treatment this week, I have to remember that although chemotherapy, along with radiation this time, can be tough. But it won't last forever and it's delivered to make me better.

My Oncologist told me I've done well considering having stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. (3 years)

Rita and I talk about preparing ourselves and our lives. We discuss how the last treatment went, how I felt regarding foods and rest but the most important part, are the days the chemo hits me hard. We know a good three days I'm out, then I feel better to get ready for the next round.

It's a mental thing! I tackle it like a Coach. I thank God for Rita being by my side. (Asst. Coach, LOL she thinks she's the head Coach).

WE Celebrate the little wins knowing we have a great family, friends and fan base.
