Updated message from Knox Council 3pm Friday

Tennis Knox Inc has spoken with Council late today and have been informed that all Knox tennis clubs will be updated with the clubs opening requirements within the next 24 hours.
Please ensure that all clubs abide by the strict requirements of DHHS and the Tennis Victoria Toolkit return to tennis guidelines.

Hi TKI Members,

In regard to the Tennis Knox Inc (TKI) upcoming events we have the Knox Festival planned for the first weekend of March and we have a large display area booked in conjunction with Dale from Tennis Vic and Dale has all the good displays to bring to promote Tennis at the Festival.

This display on the weekend and with the support that TKI members can provide on this weekend is designed so as to encourage new players to either coaching or the clubs through membership and I think that the member clubs and coaches can have as much are exposure as they wish during this 2 day event.

We have a larger 6m x 3m Marque next to the TV activities and some tables and chairs and normally we ask clubs to be rostered on but in this case I feel that anyone from the member clubs who wishes to come during the two days (10am - 4 pm both days) and any of the coaches who wish to come and hand out their promotion information please come along and wear your club gear and the more coverage we can get the better. So we get 2 full days coverage please email Andrew with your suggested times for attending this Festival please.

There will be brochures from TKI and the clubs should have their own information as well to distribute. And the coaches can get some business as well and try and get some coaching kids and new students.

We are having a competition with a "guest number of balls in the cage" with some prizes (thanks Dale) and guesses will be submitted on forms where we will obtain names, contact numbers and emails details that we can distribute to the clubs after the event for follow up. And we will have some give away items as prizes including some Book A Court hours and other tennis items that Dale has sourced so expect a big weekend.

As well as these prizes we have to win I want to give away are used tennis balls so any of the clubs that have used tennis balls please either bring them along to the event or get to them to Scoresby and we will get them to the Festival. That way we can "seed" the Festival with as many tennis balls given away as possible and they will be given to all the kids walking pass the display. It will look good with all the kids walking around with tennis balls in their hands so please keep your used tennis balls for this event. I think we need about 1000 for the 2 days.

After the Knox Festival our next event we are working on is the seniors event which we will hold later this year in conjunction with the Knox city Council who we have had meetings with and discussed about using their seniors liaison people to help with connecting our venues to the seniors groups and homes in an open day format later this year. Further details soon.

And during discussions with the Knox council will discussed the possibility of longer-term tenancy and we were told that this is still being considered and for clubs who want this to make application for longer tenancy if this is what they desire and these applications will be reviewed on a club by club basis. Baby steps but at least a small result.

And there is a number of other events TKI is working on and the details will be provided shortly via email and the page. Please check the TKI page as a method of communication bedtween clubs.

There is also the upcoming AGM which we will have to schedule shortly as well so what for more details for this as well.
