Old Meadows Farm was one of the sponsors for the 2026 AERC National Championship ride in Orkney Springs, VA, back in June, awarding a custom mohair girth to the first Mustang to finish the 55 mile and the 100 mile championship rides. Hannah Bartnick on her Mustang mare, Aspen, was the first (and only!) Mustang to complete the 100 mile National Championship ride. It was such a pleasure to be able to hand-deliver Hannah's award this past weekend while we were enjoying the SEERA "Summer Camping Convention" in southwest Virginia. Here's to Hannah and Aspen, and the many miles they have yet to share!

My girth inventory was getting low, so the past five weeks have been busy! Between the Biltmore ride, a trip to Seattle, and prepping for the Old Dominion 100, I've finished some custom orders, along with several other girths in an effort to rebuild inventory - including a new Alpaca girth for Journey (lucky girl!). I now have plenty of girths in stock in different sizes and colors for the OD and upcoming rides. Custom orders are always an option to get the size and color(s) you want, and Alpaca is also available in a variety of natural colors. Happy riding!

A lot of custom mohair girths were on the loom recently. They are all in their new homes, so it is time to make more! I sold most of my already-made inventory by the last ride of the 2025 ride year, so I need to start rebuilding to have girths available at rides this year. It will be a fun project to undertake during these cold winter days when everything is frozen from winter storm Fern. This should keep me plenty busy!
