Grizzly Gravel Camp Trip!!

Aug 13-16 above North Fork/Bass Lake in the cool mountains!

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, so let’s give it a go… come for all 3 nights, or just 1 night, or just for one ride & no nights.

No $$ required (unless we camp in a USFS campsite requiring a fee, & that will be determined based on the number of people going). I normally camp up off of Sky Ranch Rd, at the Soquel Meadow overflow camp area, right on Willow Creek in a nice shady, cool area & I don’t pay any fees. There is also the Soquel Meadow USFS campground right next door too, but they charge a daily fee of $41. The pay site requires a reservation made at the website recreation.gov at the Soquel Meadow Campground page. The Overflow site right next door is free, but it’s first come first serve. Both these are easily accessible by car, & all paved except the last 1/4 mile.

We’ll do rides Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings. The elevation there is 5000’, so it should be a lot cooler. Rides will include climbing to Cold Springs & lunch at Jones Store (the only except CA$H!!). We may ride to Fresno Dome on Fridays ride. Sunday will be a shorter ride which will include riding through Nelder Grove to see the giant Sequoias there.

We’ve been traveling for the last 2 weeks. Be home back in North Fork manana. Did some great gravel biking in a bunch of different towns along the way. St George UT. St Anthony ID, Eagle ID, Winnemucca NV, & today the cherry on top was So. Lake Tahoe.
