This week Blake kicked Dad out of the 4cyl Bone Stock to try his hand in that division. That would make him have to pull double duty also driving the mad dog. He finished practice 1 in the mad dog needing the car to turn better but had good speed by the end of the second practice he had what he wanted. Ended up P4 in the qualifier very happy with the car. Feature time rolls around blake starts P1 with 7 time winner this year right behind him. Blake took and early lead but was quickly challenged by Hood. It was and intense hard battle for the 25 laps right down to the last corner. Blake was able to hold on for his first win in the Mad Dog class.
Then it was time for thr Bone Stock. Blake rolled off P4 after a good qualifier. Thr green flew and Blake was leading by turn 3. Blake led the entire 30 lap feature picking up his second Feature win of the night. These two car could be any more opposite in their handling characteristics an they way they need to be driven. To jump back and forth and be competitive is hard to do.

To top off the night Blake's great gramps was there to witness the show!!!

Blake finally got his first qualifier win of the season !! Picked up lap times and improved all day! He was running second in the feature and spun out due to the locker in the rear end breaking. He pit we made a huge chassis adjustment and sent him back out. He restarted 5th and drove back into the second position.

Blake Normand had the opportunity to run a kart for Main Street Motorsports again this week. He had a great qualifier run and got to carry the Checkers for the first time this year. He got into trouble early with a cone get wedged under the cart and finished 6th ( 2 spots behind his dadđŸ˜‰).

On the big track we started the day with a new set up that needed some fine tuning. He started 6th in the qualifier and finished 2. When they rolled out for the feature he jumped out to an early lead holding off 2 fast cars until the caution came out on lap 13. Blake battled side by side with the 76 for another 6 laps loosing the lead to him. He ended up 2 overall for the night.

The Mad dog division is off this weekend so we are getting his old Dare Devil car out of the weeds to run riverside speedway 4 cylinder bone stock class with Keith behind the wheel and Blake will be running it August 6th at Thunder Road for there Warrior 50 lap special event.

This should tell everyone how excited we all were to finish the day without any mechanical failures, and to place 3rd in the feature is huge. The new motor ran great and the driver adapted to it and the hot track well.Blake ran his fastest laps ever in the feature. Yes the finish was third but its like a win for us. This wouldnt be possible with out our sponsors and the help from Pete Gilcris Nick Gilcris and David Potter .

Not the outcome we had hoped for in the Main Street Motorsports Kart but Dylan Palmer definitely gave Blake a great piece up until thr teeth on the rear sprocket decided to leave the chat! We cant thank them for the opportunity enough. Hopefully the seats open again this season.
